Clemens Kochinke is a German-American attorney practicing law in Washington, DC. He supports clients in international transactions and structuring. In the technology fields, he advises on intellectual property, privacy and data protection.
Fully qualified as an American lawyer and a German Rechtsanwalt, he has testified as an expert on international law in various tribunals.
As a U.S. law correspondent to major German-language law journals, he contributed numerous articles such as Links, Frames & Meta Tags to Computer & Recht, and Trends in U.S. Computer and Internet Law, to Kommunikation & Recht. As a guest speaker at the annual meeting of the German American Law Association in Berlin, Germany, he covered Asset Tracing and Asset Recovery in relation to privacy and data protection. He provides serial updates on U.S. law to the association's law journal. Recently, he completed chapters on American law for two major books for German lawyers, written from the perspective of German clients doing business in the USA.
Clemens Kochinke has a diverse international law practice. With bar admissions to the District of Columbia and Germany, to the United States Supreme Court and to specialized courts, and after legal education and training in Washington, London, Heidelberg, Berlin and Malta, Mr. Kochinke assists corporations and governments, often from German-speaking countries, in United States matters as well as U.S. clients in foreign matters. In addition to advising international organizations, sovereigns and corporations, he assists individuals in German-American estate, inheritance and probate matters.
